The G.R.O.W. 2008 conference (Growing Real Opportunities inthe World by Beginning Locally), Sat., Jan. 26, 2008 from 8 a.m. to7 p.m. at Portland State University, is co-sponsored by Intel andWorld Affairs Council of Oregon and is designed to create anongoing collaborative forum for the business and nonprofitcommunity in Portland, to tackle issues centered on the topics ofhuman rights, sustainability and the environment.Cost forthe event is $30, which includes breakfast, lunch, reception,access to all skills development workshops and project plans. Theconference is a true collaboration between institutions -for-profit, nonprofit and public as speakers with diversebackgrounds will lead G.R.O.W. 2008 participants through interactiveskill development breakout seminars, inspiration-building talks,and nonprofit project plan sessions. By uniting the business andnon-profit community, we can tackle global issues by workingtogether locally.
