Portland, OR October 14, 2009
Energy was the key to Joe Herbst’s presentation this evening as the Virticus Corporation CEO delivered first place in Round 1 of the OEN PubTalk: Seed Oregon competition. Joe’s spirited ten-minute pitch effectively touted the design, manufacturing and distribution prospects of his firm’s energy efficient street lighting products. Verticus moves on to the finals of the competition slated for February 10, 2010.

Conversely, Coherence Resources, Inc., CEO Keith Wymbs’ presentation was more about “the relaxation response” as he pitched his company’s NightWave product that helps silently guide problem sleepers with pre-sleep relaxation and synchronized breathing.

“The Naked Issue”, “Urban Getaways” and “Eco-Couture Weddings” were among articles highlighted by Intentionally Urban Magazine CEO Tara Herrick’s presentation to differentiate her firm’s in | ur magazine. Tara positioned in | ur as a fun, witty, and beautiful online magazine created with heart and purpose, striving to communicate the reality of conscious living.

The October 14 event was kicked off by Fondalo Corporation’s CEO Robert Caruso with his shot at The OEN PubTalk “5-Minute Pitch”. Fondalo is the first “buying power social network” application, providing businesses a powerful tool to launch effective, targeted social networking campaigns.

OEN PubTalk: Seed Oregon introduced a new voting format at the Round 1 event.  Audience members are now the exclusive judges for all four rounds of the OEN Seed Oregon PubTalk Tournament. To select a winner of each round, audience members will cast one ballot for their favorite of the evening’s three presentations. The best from each round will proceed to the final in February to vie for an opportunity to compete for investment at Angel Oregon on  Friday, March 5th.

Round 2 is scheduled for November 12th at 5:00 at the BridgePort BrewPub + Bakery located at 1313 NW Marshall Street, Portland, OR.
