The Alternative Fuel Vehicle Infrastructure Working Group has made some recommendations on new tax credits which will promote domestically produced alternative-fuel vehicles. This is good news for OEN member Arcimoto. The Eugene-based company has developed an electric car called the Pulse, a picture of which can is featured in the article. OEN members Anvil Media and SwellPath Interactive were mentioned in the Portland Business Journal article about web analytics. Web analytics can be a useful, but sometimes confusing tool your businesses marketing efficiency. Ultimately, web analytics can help track how users who visited a website came there, what they purchased, how long they were at the website, and any other pertinent information for a companies marketing department. Both Anvil Media and SwellPath Interactive have based their businesses off of this web tool in different ways. According to Kent Lewis, president of Anvil Media, "We can quickly test different campaigns and use analytics to see which gets the best return on investment for much less money". SwellPath Interactive has another use for web analytics; SwellPath analyzes the data provided by web analytics and reports back to clients their findings and recommendations on what the clients should do. The future looks bright for NuScale Power. In the state of the union address President Obama announced a potential $38.8 million in funding for developers of small modular reactors, which is exactly what NuScale Power creates. This Corvalis-based OEN member develops modular small-scale nuclear reactors that can operate alone or with 24 other reactors at a site. When a company enters into a lawsuit one of the key actions that can make or break a case is the retention of important documents. This is where OEN member Zapproved's new software, Legal Hold Pro, comes into play. Legal Hold Pro is a  web-based software that notify's employees which documents cannot be destroyed, the software can also track who agrees to hold the documents and who does not. Through this notification system management can be protected from systemic negligence because management can prove they contacted the parties involved regarding document retention. Today people are shifting away from staying in standard hotel rooms while on vacation, instead they are upgrading to house rentals. Portland based OEN member Second Porch has taken advantage of this business opportunity listing 1,400 homes in more than 60 countries, and now Sunset magazine has taken notice. According to Sunset magazine, Second Porch is great tool for tracking down vacation rentals through social media networks such as Facebook. Read more here.

Congratulations to local OEN member Routeware for being featured in an article by the Portland Business Journal. The article highlights Routeware’s business model, the company provides electronic tools to the waste management industry, and discusses the success of Routeware. According the “Route to the Top”, Routeware has been able to increase their revenue by 420% over the past few years, and the outlook on the future is just as bright. This is partially due to Routeware’s newest web-based software, VehiclePort, which helps the industry manage and monitor the health of their trucks.
